Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day leadership of the electrical team including prioritisation and allocation of workload, deploying labour based on the demands and requirements of the task against the competency and capability of resource across a variety of shift patterns.

The Role

  • responsible for efficiently planning, organising, monitoring and controlling all aspects of electrical work;
  • working closely with the factories and all other support teams on a daily basis to ensure direction of labour and planned engineering activities fully support the operation;
  • maintaining and promote good employee relations on site, ensuring potential problems are dealt with at an early stage;
  • training, developing and mentoring employees and have an input to problem resolution on a daily basis;
  • responsibility for the supervision and performance of all employees under your control at all times;
  • manage projects, contractors and site infrastructure;
  • promote and lead good maintenance management practices;
  • ensuring compliance with the maintenance strategy, systems and targets.

The Person will:

  • have a good technical ability having served an electrical maintenance apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment;
  • ideally have a HND in electrical engineering;
  • ideally have 10 years’ experience in a team leadership role;
  • ideally have an ILM Level 3 management qualification or equivalent;
  • have good organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise including preventative maintenance programmes;
  • have sound analytical skills combined with a practical approach to problem solving;
  • have a comprehensive understanding and practical experience of industrial automation, including AC, DC & servo motor control systems, PLC control including Bus protocol communication systems, PID system control all gained from experience in an industrial processing or manufacturing environment;
  • have excellent communication skills with the ability to lead from the front, driving pace, accuracy and standards;
  • have a working knowledge of Windows based software including Microsoft Excel.
