Adding Lumira™ Aerogel technology to architectural daylight systems provides superior thermal insulation, excellent light transmission and improved acoustics. Lumira aerogel consists of a lightweight and translucent insulating material which can be placed either between the skins of flat glazing or into the flutes of multiwall glazing materials. When incorporated in this way the technology works by dramatically reducing heat flow, creating a highly energy efficient barrier with a thermal value of less than 1 W/m2K, ultimately reducing the artificial lighting requirement for more energy efficient buildings.
- Improved thermal performance - less than 1 W/m²K
- Superior light diffusion - elimination of glare
- Excellent natural light transmission
- Improved acoustic performance
- Reduced solar heat gain and loss
- Decreased energy consumption
- Colour stability (no discolouration to distort light transmission)
- Aerogel weighs only 3.6 kg/m² compared to 30 kg/m² for glass double glazing
- Xlok Panel Glazing
- Marvault Vaulted Rooflights
- Mardome Dome Rooflights
