Copenhagen Ballet - Foamalux White

Foamalux Hoarding - Copenhagen Ballet

5mm Foamalux White was the chosen material for an extraordinary art display in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. Over 12 white foam PVC panels were used to create hoarding to conceal a busy construction site in Kongens Nytorv, displaying photographs of ballet performances, part of an art project by Ingrid Bugge called ‘The Essence of Ballet’, inspired by the royal Danish Ballet in 2012-2013.

Using a UV flatbed printer, the 3.05x1.56m Foamalux White panels were printed directly with 6 blown up images of Bugge’s astonishing photographs, creating an eye-catching piece of art at one of Copenhagen’s busiest traffic points. Foamalux White proved to be the perfect material due to its superb print quality, the capability of direct to substrate print, UV stability, firmness and ease of workability.

In addition, the dimension of the panels made it possible to cover the entire scaffolding façade, resulting in a 30 meter wide installation, which put the designer in a unique position, as she now had the opportunity to expose her work to a wide variety of people, including Danes, business people, tourists, children, and both ballet interested people and ballet novices. Read more about foamalux white.
