Anthracite Grey is the Perfect Match for Period Style Property

Stonebyres Cascade

Period-style detailing, greater drainage efficiency and ease of installation led to the specification of Brett Martin’s Cascade Cast Iron Style Rainwater System in Anthracite Grey at a new home in Lanark.

Located on the prestigious Stonebryes Estate near the Scottish market town of Lanark, The Beeches is a new four-bed home which is adjacent to a period farmhouse.  To respect the character of the farmhouse, which had cast iron guttering and downpipes, the contractor, A & CS Comrie, required a cost-effective, higher capacity rainwater system which would match the existing farmhouse and offer the long term benefits of plastic. To meet the requirements, A & CS Comrie chose a Brett Martin Cascade Rainwater System comprising a 115mm Deepstyle Gutter and 68mm Round Downpipe in the new Anthracite Grey colour option.

Commenting on the installation, Blair Comrie of A & CS Comrie said: “Cascade is lightweight and easy to install, and offers great value when compared to real cast iron rainwater systems.  It also offered the authentic detailing and finish we were looking for to blend the new build with the existing farmhouse.”

This semi-elliptical system is designed to offer effective rainwater drainage on larger or steeper residential roofs. It has the potential to reduce downpipes due to higher capacity, which can provide substantial cost reductions and appearance improvements.

“Due to the large 200m2 roof and the seven dormer windows, we were concerned with rainwater run-off.  The higher capacity system offered us the ideal solution and looked perfect,” added Blair Comrie.

Easy to integrate to create a successful building aesthetic on everything from contemporary builds, period renovations and across entire estates, the anthracite grey colour option has risen in popularity and is also available in Brett Martin’s Gloss Rainwater range, allowing the building industry to capitalise on the growing market trend.

Specifically developed to create an exact colour match to the true RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, Brett Martin’s Anthracite Grey perfectly complements other building accessories such as windows, doors or other roofing components.

Significantly lighter than cast iron rainwater systems, Cascade is much quicker, easier and safer to install at a height, helping to offer huge savings in terms of on-site installation costs. The system also features external fixing lugs designed to facilitate the use of power tools, further speeding up installation.

In addition to the popular Anthracite Grey colour specified on the Beeches Cottage, Cascade is also available in a choice of Classic Black, Chartwell Green, Graphite Grey, Sandstone, Porcelain White and Olive Green colour options. Cascade is UV stabilised for a maintenance free system that will stay looking great and working well for years and comes with a ten year guarantee.
