Tap Into Rainwater Harvesting

Trio of New Products

Brett Martin Plumbing and Drainage have launched an efficient Rainwater Harvesting System which has the potential to half home-owners annual water usage.

Available as Home and Garden or Garden Only complete systems in a choice of capacities, the system is suitable for use in residential and commercial applications, offering cost and performance benefits to property owners and installers alike.  It is therefore an attractive new proposition for merchant stockists.

Demand for rainwater harvesting systems is anticipated to grow significantly by 2014 due to higher priced water metering and consumer desire to conserve water. Stockists can reap the rewards of this versatile system, supported by Brett Martin’s market leading POS and technical support. The system is manufactured from HDPE tanks rotationally moulded in the UK and integrates with existing Brett Martin rainwater and underground drainage systems.

The system collects rainwater run-off from guttering and downpipes, then filters and stores it in tanks for use around the home, garden or commercial property. Rainwater is perfect for toilet flushing, garden watering, laundry and car washing and Brett Martin’s direct feed system delivers pressurised, pumped water on demand.

Five robust HDPE tanks sizes are available ranging from 1,200 – 6,000 litres, including a 1,500 litre low profile option. A unique three-inlet filter system prevents silt, leaves and other debris from entering the tank and has been independently tested to handle flows from roof areas up to 500m2. The control system pump is submerged requiring no pre-priming and therefore ready for use offering reliable performance and reduced maintenance.

The Home and Garden system has an automatic mains top-up controller and can supply toilets and washing machines as well as connecting to outside water supplies. The Garden Only system does not have a mains top-up facility but is still pressurised by pump to supply designated harvested rainwater taps and most domestic sprinklers, watering systems and jet washes.

“Water resources are under increasing pressure from population growth and climate change and we have seen a definite and growing demand for water re-use systems,” said Graham Smith, Sales Director of Brett Martin Plumbing & Drainage.

“Installing our Rainwater Harvesting System could supply up to 50% of domestic water demand and an even higher percentage for commercial applications. We are delighted to offer this new product as a natural extension of our existing market leading ranges and look forward to seeing the water-saving results on many residential and commercial projects.”

Brett Martin have also introduced a range of Sewerage Treatment and Grease Trap systems to provide a complete rainwater, plumbing and drainage product range for merchant stockists.  To enquire about stocking the Brett Martin Rainwater Harvesting System please call 01246 280000 or email building@brettmartin.com
