Trainee Quality Technician

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Trainee Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspection, testing of quality process and products to ensure that Brett Martin Products meet our Customer expectations.

The Trainee QA technician will work with a variety of inspection and test equipment and methods, process and products, ensuring proper procedures are being followed and documented in order to maintain product quality and records traceability.

The successful candidate, working largely unsupervised, will be responsible for implementing and controlling a quality system to ISO 9001 certification and working to Standards of prescribed methods.

The successful candidate must have -

  • Have a third level qualification, such as HND, HNC, BTEC or equivalent in a Technical based subject;
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft office software, including Excel;
  • A proven track record of delivering process / quality improvement;
  • Excellent written and oral communication & organisational skills;
  • Have a systematic approach, with attention to detail;
  • An ability to work with limited supervision.

And ideally -

  • 1 years relevant quality technician / quality engineering experience in the manufacturing industry;
  • Have experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience of inspection and testing of products;
  • Experience of internal quality auditing (Process, System audits);
  • Experience of continuous improvement tools such as: 8D, 5 Why, Root cause Analysis, FMEA, Process Mapping, Process control plans;
  • Experience in customer complaint investigation and corrective action;
  • Experience of leading quality improvement teams, such as incident investigation teams and 8D teams;
  • Experience in training delivery and training validation;
  • Have had internal auditor ISO 9001:2015 training;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
