Senior HR Advisor

Due to continued growth we require an experienced Senior HR Advisor. This is a new, permanent role offering an excellent salary and benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy small HR team acting as a true HR generalist, supporting a Manufacturing/Distribution company on day to day policy, procedure and legal issues, as well as getting involved in HR project work.

The successful candidate should have at least 3-5 years recent relevant experience, within a production or manufacturing environment, operating at a senior generalist/HR Business Partner level, or higher.

The successful candidate will be commercially minded, interacting on a regular basis with various key internal stakeholders at all levels ensuring the HR service they provide genuinely adds value to the business. As the business looks ahead, the Senior HR Advisor will be incredibly important in driving a positive company culture across a range of teams, as the organisation continues to grow. 

Reporting to the Site Managing Director, the Senior HR Advisor will be responsible for the overall HR generalist remit, providing advice and guidance across a range of HR responsibilities, including performance management, employee relations, absence management, policy development, learning & development recruitment and disciplinaries. The organisation is also focused to develop key HR analytics on a monthly basis, highlighting any key trends to stakeholders on a timely basis, ensuring they are actioned. To support this, the organisation has plans to upgrade their internal systems, which will involve a period of transition with some more historical data. It is therefore important the successful candidate is systems orientated and able to support stakeholders through this change process.

The role:

  • Provide business partnering support to Line Managers.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Managers Supervisors and team members.
  • Support Line Managers to set goals, assess capability and drive the performance management cycle.
  • Manage the recruitment life cycle.
  • Lead change management and engagement initiatives.
  • Manage the on-boarding and probation review process.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively manage absence.
  • Handle disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Planning, organising and delivering training and development for team members.

The person will need:

  • 3rd level qualification, preferably business or HR.
  • CIPD qualified.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a senior HR Generalist/HR Officer/Senior HR Advisor preferably leading a team.
  • Experience within a fast paced, production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working within a business with a large headcount.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation, essential.
  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills.
  • Excellent communicator.
