Bushey Manor Junior School

Bushey Manor Junior School

When architect Peter Bailey wanted to turn an open outdoor quad area at Bushey Manor Junior School in Hertfordshire into a light, bright and usable space he approached none other than Brett Martin to find the right daylighting solution!

Measuring 5 metres by 7.4 metres, a magnificent Ritchlight Ultra pyramid skylight was designed and installed to turn the multi-purpose space into a vibrant area which is now used as a library, dining room and learning centre.

The skylight, was glazed in Pilkington glass, chosen for its solar control and protective properties.  Six electrically operated top hung vents with 2 zone rain and temperature sensors were also installed in the skylight to allow the space to be naturally ventilated.
