JJB Soccerdome, Manchester

JJb Soccerdome, FAIRs Industrail Rooflights

Over 3,000m of Energysaver composite panel rooflights were installed in the JJB Soccer Dome at Trafford Park in Manchester.

The purpose-built indoor football arena stages 5-a-side football all year round.  When daylight levels are adequate the Energysaver rooflights introduce enough natural daylight into the building allowing the artificial lighting to be turned off, saving on operational costs and reducing the carbon footprint of the building.

Manufactured from Trilite GRP which offers a naturally diffused daylight, these factory assembled rooflights disperse the daylight more evenly than other plastic glazing materials.  This avoids distracting shadows and solar glare which could be a major problem when playing sports or in work environments where safety could be an issue.

Energysavers are triple skin rooflights meaning the risk of condensation is reduced making them ideal for these type of high occupancy buildings.  With its unique thermal membrane the standard Energysaver achieves a U-value of 1.9kW/m2, with options as low as 0.9W/m2K, well exceeding the thermal requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations.
