Ageas Bowl

Ageas Bowl Canopy

The Ageas Bowl (formerly known as the Rose Bowl) is one of the leading cricket venues in the country. Home to Hampshire Country Cricket Club, the ground has been undergoing a phased improvement and expansion programme with plans to include an on-site hotel. Most famous for hosting high profile international cricket matches the venue has also recently become a popular venue for major concert and events.

Phase one of the works included the building of new permanent stands to both sides of the Hopkin’s Pavilion.  Over 2,000m2 of clear Marlon CS profiled polycarbonate in 32/1000 profile, was used to glaze the rooflight canopies over both stands.  Working closely with the roofing contractor Brett Martin Daylight Systems manufactured and supplied the Marlon CS sheet in various tapered lengths to suit the curved canopy structure.

Renowned for its high impact resistance and light transmission, Marlon CS is a popular choice for stadia and sporting arena, allowing daylight to reach the pitch, promoting good grass growth and ensuring favourable playing conditions for both players and TV broadcasting.  The sheet also has a co-extruded UV protection layer and comes with 10 year light transmission and 3 year weather breakage warranties.
