Ulster University's School of Engineering Visit Brett Martin

School of Engineering Students from the Ulster University, Jordanstown visited the Brett Martin manufacturing facility in Mallusk on Thursday, 14th March.

Brett Martin were delighted to welcome students from The School of Engineering at Ulster University, Jordanstown on Thursday 14th March 2019 to our Mallusk headquarters.

The visit was aimed at assisting in the delivery of the module and to give students exposure to engineering outside of the classroom. The Engineering students learned about the various ranges of plastic materials used in Brett Martin products, different manufacturing techniques including extrusion and injection moulding and the important role that recycling plays within the plant.

Jamie Smyth, HR Admin Assistant, coordinated the visit on the day. Following a company presentation by Jamie Tyrell, Senior Process Technician the students were given a tour of the Injection Moulding Department by Manager Noel Gourley and the Poly FS Department with Manager Drew Patterson, where they could see the various manufacturing processes used and the recycling processes employed.

We hope that everyone involved enjoyed the visit, and we wish all the students all the best in their studies.
