Marlon Clickfix glazes gable ends of the new spectator stands at Ravenhill

Ravenhill Rugby Stadium Belfast

Opal tinted Marlon Clickfix 1040 was used to glaze the gable ends of the three new spectators stands at Ravenhill Rugby Stadium in Belfast.

The stadium which has been home to Ulster Rugby for over 90 years was awarded £14.5m in government funding in 2011 to redevelop the existing stadium and to expand seating capacity.   Work which included the redesign of the existing stands at the Memorial and Aquinas ends of the ground and the demolition and rebuild of the main stand, commenced late 2012. The major refurbishment was completed in April 2014 and the new stadium which now seats 18,000 spectators officially reopened on 2nd May 2014.

Almost 230m2 of Marlon Clickfix was used to create seamlessly glazed vertical facades on both gable ends of each of the three spectator stands.  The opal tinted panels help to create a brighter environment in the stand whist still providing an opaque cover which was specified as the stadium is situated in a residential area.

Marlon Clickfix was chosen for its aesthetic appeal and ease of installation on site. Consisting of damage resistant Marlon multiwall polycarbonate panels the system is designed to simply click and fit together to create seamless façades or rooflights.  The 40mm thick 10-wall structure achieves a U-value of 0.99 W/m2K, creating thermally insulating rooflights and façades that bring natural daylight into many building types.

Available in a variety of tints and colours with varying degrees of solar control, Marlon Clickfix1040 is suitable for use in all building types.

As with all Marlon multiwall polycarbonate, Marlon Clickfix1040 comes with a full 10 year warranty.
