    Role Purpose

    To uphold a quality culture and ensure the best in class performance to our Internal and External customer base, implementing relevant quality control procedures, driving process controls and continuous improvement across all the companies operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Management and development of BS EN ISO 9001:2015 business system
    • Ensuring that all systems are maintained so that the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 are met and, as defined, kept under review, by means of formal and informal audits
    • Host and co-ordinate all external auditing bodies and ensure we maintain current certifications
    • Ensuring, by means of the defined reporting system, that the CI Manager is kept informed of all important developments affecting quality matters
    • Management of non-conformances and interaction with relevant department on corrective actions and review actions • Monitoring and improvement of Quality KPI’s, and analysis of performance data to identify focus areas for the business
    • Support the business improvement strategies across site, providing challenge, facilitation and coaching where required • Ensuring that all external testing is carried out and recorded
    • Work closely with the Product Development team to ensure a Quality by Design concept
    • Ensuring all products are produced within tolerances specified
    • Auditing of local quality procedures and systems
    • Assisting Engineering and Maintenance teams to identify root cause of non- standard deviations and Poke Yoke solutions
    • Interaction with external suppliers to address non-conforming product
    • Coaching and championing Lean activities, 5s/PCS/PDCA/Kaizen
    • Engage and coach the workforce to support a Quality culture, through focussed improvement events using Lean methodology

    • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels
    • Analytical thinker with attention to detail
    • Strong project management skills, experience of Kaizen and 5’s Ownership
    • Proven experience of Lean skills and techniques, influencing and engaging others within this function
    • Demonstrated experience of quality assurance
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently, communicating to stakeholders using RACI practice • Experience of working within ISO9001 and 14001
    • Minimum of intermediate Excel certificate
    • High personal standards
    • Current UK driving licence

    Desirable

    • Knowledge and experience within Building materials sector
    • IOSH Managing Safely
