Marlon Clickfix allows light into Lidl Logistics Centre

GEPLAST has supplied Marlon Clickfix panels into one of Lidl’s newest distribution centres.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High light transmission
  • Low U value
  • Quick to install
  • UV resistant

German food retailer Lidl have used approximately 700 m2 of Marlon Clickfix as vertical glazing panels in their new logistic centre in Cernica, Romania. The logistics centre has a total area of 62,180 m2 and is located just outside the capital Bucharest, serving the southern region of the country.

The size of the warehouse meant it an optimal lighting solution. Other essential design criteria were a quick installation, superior material quality and energy efficiency.

Brett Martin’s Marlon Clickfix provided an answer. The modular nature of the glazing system reduced the installation time, an important benefit for any construction project. The premium multiwall polycarbonate panels have a high light transmission, allowing daylight into the building through the glazing panels which are situation above the loading bay doors. The multiwall structure of the panels results in a lower U value than other glazing materials for a more energy efficient building. Clickfix also has a co-extruded UV resistant coating which products the product from weathering and degradation.
