Brett Martin's New Appointments Put Specification Under the Spotlight
As part of its heightened focus on servicing specifiers, Brett Martin Daylight Systems (BMDS) is delighted to announce two new appointments.
William McDowell joins as Business Development Manager for Industrial Systems and Andy Dancaster joins as Specification Manager for Commercial Systems.
These appointments demonstrate Brett Martin’s commitment to support specification professionals with its growing range of high performance daylighting systems for the specification sector.
With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry including time with Rockwool and Kingspan, William McDowell is a welcome addition to the Brett Martin Daylight Systems Industrial team. As Business Development Manager for Industrial Systems, William will interact with those that deliver logistics warehouses and other industrial buildings including specifiers, contractors and building owners. Working closely with Brett Martin’s technical and industrial sales teams he will be responsible for managing his specifications and the development of new tools and data to support customers and others across the supply chain.
William McDowell said: “This is a great opportunity. I am looking forward to working with our sales and technical teams as we find new ways to enhance our service and strengthen our customer relationships.”
Taking on the role of Specification Manager for Commercial Systems, Andy Dancaster has over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry, working primarily with architects and specifiers, and brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to Brett Martin.
Speaking on his recent appointment, Andy Dancaster said: “I am delighted to be working for the UK’s leading manufacturer of rooflights and daylight solutions and look forward to providing the architecture and design community with insightful advice and exciting products to help them meet their clients’ stringent design and performance criteria.”

Secured by Design is owned by the UK Police Service, works to improve the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings and is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK.
